Bringing Water Onto The Show Ground
Water is vital for all animals large and small at the Emley Show and all the four legged visitors too. Installation beings about one week before show day. Water being installed at Emley showground for the cattle troughs which Graham and the good Mr. Bray have strived to install for the last three years with help from student Will Robertshaw. Testing the depth came up to Will’s ankles and Marcus’ knees!! Last year we had to employ the farm digger to install some new duct to carry the poly pipe under the enlarged gateway at the top of the field. Michael oversees the work. Lovely shimmering cool water in the tubs. The blue line refers to the Alkathene pipe we put along the wall edges. Probably around a half mile in total supplying taps for dogs, sheep, horticulturalists and chickens alike. Then take it all down and pull it out on the Monday after the show.
